Being a young adult comes with big transitions and pressure to “have it all figured out”—but it’s okay if you don’t. If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next step, therapy can help you feel more grounded and in control. I work with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and challenges with emotion regulation. My approach is warm, collaborative, and paced to meet your needs. I draw from evidence-based practices like CBT, ACT, IFS, Exposure Therapy, and Attachment theory to help you better understand yourself and build lasting skills.  Additionally, I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based approach for individuals impacted by trauma or living with PTSD. CPT helps clients identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts related to their trauma, reducing emotional distress such as guilt, shame, fear, and self-blame. My goal is to create a safe space where healing feels possible and progress feels personal. You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here to support you in showing up more fully for yourself and your life

Welcome! My passion is helping children, adolescents, and adults flourish through uncovering their strengths, building resilience, and learning healthy ways to cope with various life stressors. I encourage my clients to be themselves, without any fear of judgement during our sessions together. I enjoy working with all ages and address depression, behavioral issues, life transitions, grief, and anxiety.

Additionally, I am a former Early Childhood educator, perinatal parent-child attachment support, and human services provider with over 18 years of experience across different cultural settings. In my work with young children and teens I like to incorporate art expression, play therapy, trauma focused CBT, and sensory integration techniques for self-regulation and adaptation. When working with young children and adolescents my goal is to equip individuals with tools and skills they need to cope with adversity while also enhancing emotional strength and well-being.

If you are seeking therapy, you may be troubled by your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, or relationships – or maybe all of these. But it is likely that you feel something needs to change. My job as your therapist is to support and guide you in this process so you can grow and thrive in accordance with your values. Through thoughtful, engaged conversations in a nurturing environment, we can explore your inner conflicts, patterns of behavior, and foundational beliefs. You will deepen your self-understanding and learn skills to successfully navigate life stressors.

I work with adults of all ages and teens, who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship issues, work-life challenges, and life transitions. My approach to therapy draws heavily from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and utilizes a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective. I firmly believe that each of us has the ability to change for the better, and I bring this optimism and commitment to every therapy session.

If you're reading this, you may be going through a difficult time — or simply searching for a space to reflect, grow, and reconnect with yourself. Either way, I'm glad you're here.
With a focus on depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties, I work with clients across the lifespan—from children to adults—helping individuals and families build resilience and healthy connections. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing is not just possible — it is an inherent right. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, all through a Trauma-Informed and Strength-Based lens. I also integrate Solution-Focused techniques and always strive to tailor our work to meet your unique goals and needs. At the heart of my practice is a person-centered philosophy: you are the expert of your life. My role is to walk beside you, helping you uncover the inner strengths and wisdom that may have been silenced by fear, hurt, or self-doubt. I believe, as Carl Rogers said, that “the good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” Our work together isn’t about fixing you — it’s about supporting you as you move toward the life you want to create. I see therapy as a collaborative journey, where healing begins through validation, resilience is nurtured, and meaning is rediscovered. Together, we’ll explore patterns, beliefs, and past experiences with compassion and curiosity — and begin to reshape the narratives that no longer serve you. This is not about becoming someone else — it’s about reclaiming who you’ve always been. Together, we will move forward—one step, one meaningful conversation at a time.

Kyle Darmstead

Clinical Intern

As a former student-athlete, coach, and mental performance consultant, I bring nearly two decades of experience in the world of sports. I competed at the collegiate level in baseball at Christopher Newport University and was a multi-sport athlete in high school, earning varsity letters in baseball, basketball, and golf. This background has shaped my understanding of the unique mental and emotional demands athletes face. I believe resilience and confidence are not just traits but skills that can be developed through intentional training—both on and off the field. My approach is rooted in helping individuals harness these strengths to improve performance, manage pressure, and thrive in all areas of life. I utilize a person-centered approach and integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in therapy sessions. One of my favorite quotes is, “That which you most need will be found where you least want to look.” — Carl Jung. Therapy often asks us to explore the uncomfortable or unfamiliar—but that’s where real growth happens. I look forward to being on this journey with you

WALK AND TALK THEARPY

Walk and Talk Therapy is a Holistic approach to therapy that offers a unique therapeutic experience. Being outdoors acts as a calming natural environment, as you breathe in the fresh air and feel the warmth of the sun. You might find that the stress, worry, or fears you are experiencing slowly start to fade away as your body naturally starts to heal. This approach helps people learn how to use the outdoors/nature as an opportunity to think about things in a more positive way.
